Hi I’m Michelle…I’m a recruitment professional with over 3 decades of experience in the industry, both locally and nationally. There’s not too many recruitment scenarios that I haven’t seen during this time so I am always able to offer a well-rounded perspective to businesses.  I have a background in high street (temporary workforce and permanent), online recruitment advertising & technology, and specialist niche recruitment. Over the years I have been involved in bringing strategic recruitment options to many key organisations across the region and the country. I am passionate about all things ‘recruitment’ and the job market from a client, candidate, and supplier perspective.

As the Managing Director and Owner of Spider and polkadotfrog, I lead a multi-award-winning company that I am hugely proud of.  My feet are also firmly rooted in my local community and in addition, I am the Chair of Suffolk Business Women, and also Chair of the EDI policy group, both a part of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce family, where we support, inspire, and share good practice ensuring that equality and equity in the workplace are always firmly on the agenda.

I am an avid gym goer (that means 3 times a week…) and whilst I hate cardio I absolutely love strength training.  I am a massive fan of Elvis Presley and can be often found at music events and weekenders enjoying a very eclectic taste in music.  If you asked me to choose between music or TV music would win 9 out of 10 times!  I also massively enjoy spending time at Portman Road cheering on the Super Blues (please don’t hate me Norwich fans!)  And last but definitely not least…My family and friends are everything to me!

I bring nearly 10 years of experience into the recruitment world, along with a strong background from the Retail sector. I joined Spider in 2020, as it gave me the opportunity to combine my customer service and sales experience to support clients in finding the best recruitment solutions. I love to help advise businesses on how to attract great candidates and streamline their on-boarding process.

I took a leap and pushed myself to achieve a university degree in Special Effects Makeup, but my career path led me into recruitment, where I discovered a passion to be able to connect with people and helping businesses. I grew up in Essex, so the development side of my role at Spider as abled me to return to such a great County and share the Spider love all around Essex.

Outside of work, I can sometimes be found at the gym, enjoying time with my baby nephew (I am a very proud aunty) or enjoying a few passion fruit martinis. At home I am kept busy by my two lively French bulldogs and a mischievous black cat. I am still obsessed with listening to the Spice Girls – the ultimate guilty pleasure. Whether it’s offering recruitment advice, sharing pet stories, or reminiscing about 90s pop, I am always here to help!

Hi, I’m Emma!

With a background (and passion) in Marketing, along with project management experience, stepping back into the marketing world after two years in recruitment felt like a natural next step. I’m now proud to be leading the marketing function across both Spider and polkadotfrog (our agency division), where I’m focused on pushing boundaries, shaking things up in the market, grow our brands, and taking everything to the next level.

Prior to my time in recruitment, I’ve worked in marketing/sales within both the finance services industry, and the charity sectors mainly – but a common thread throughout my career is my love and dedication for all things project and process related – did I mention, I absolutely LOVE  a spreadsheet?!

Outside of proper grown-up work, I’ve always embraced creativity, from being a gigging, recording musician to hosting a radio show and running my own online vintage shop, I’m happiest when I’m building something new. These days, you’ll mostly find me  spending time with family, buying (and trying to grow) plants for my ever-increasing- over-crowded garden and I do enjoy a bit of photography and illustration work when I have time.
